Meet the Owner

Michelle Ghassemi

President/Founder

Michelle graduated from Northern Michigan University in 2005 for Cosmetology and in 2009 at Finlandia University for Business and Communications. Throughout her career, she has played a variety of roles in both local independent businesses and corporations. She has extensive experience in increasing revenue & profit for several different types of business models as well as customer/client relations & personnel management. Michelle is a forward thinker who strives to remain innovative in her approach to business & the needs of her team.

She enjoys listening & communicating in a sincere authentic way with clients & staff. She takes the time necessary to ensure that anyone that enters her business will leave feeling appreciated, heard and respected. She has a passion for people & loves the variety of life! She strives to create & maintain a natural, balanced, sustainable environment for both her family & business. Outside of the salon, she enjoys road/mountain biking, plants! &  international travel with her husband.

Summer Mitchell

Advanced Colorist/Educator

After concluding her schooling in 2008, Summer went on to work in a salon and complete her apprenticeship on the lovely 0BX (outer banks) of North Carolina.    She has gone on to craft her passion with enhanced education from Aveda and Kevin Murphy to truly re-create all shades of blondes with classic and advanced custom techniques. She also enjoys textured cutting of all lengths and everyday styling. Summer has a unique ability to ensure her clients are truly heard & feel comfortable. She provides an honest upfront dialogue her clients can trust & rely on, to deliver the total package for them!

Ashley Walden

Color Specialist/Educator

Graduating from Aveda in 2007, Ashley worked in Chapel Hill for 7 years then made the move to Raleigh. Specializing in natural balayage and color contouring  Ashley has the skills needed to formulate the perfect color for a guest whether it be dramatic, subtle or anywhere in between. “ I love taking on the ‘challenge’ of all hair types and taking part in matching my guests inner beauty with their outer beauty.”  Understanding the frustration of recreating a desired look, Ashley takes the time to listen to your routine and simplify your style and maintenance. “There are too many things in life to worry about already,  hair should NOT be one of those. I am all about kick ass hair with little effort.”

Rebeccah Thiel

Creative Specialist/KM Session Stylist

 Beccah is a top graduate of Aveda Chapel Hill graduating in 2015. She has entered national competitions, placing among the top 100.  “What I love most about this industry is people, learning about their lives and what drives them. I love low maintenance color, grey blending, creative color and outside the box haircuts. What I love about Meraki the most, is how much they care about their current and potential clients by selectively choosing what products to carry that are green and eco-friendly. Free of all the “bad” ingredients! Also all the plants!” In Beccah’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her “tiny” family as well as…”Being outside is something I’ve always been drawn to. No better way to recharge then getting my hands dirty.”

Rachel Jacob

Level 2 Stylist

Rachel graduated with honors from Aveda Institute Chapel Hill in 2016. Her love for hair stared at an early age and developed into a passion for creative and eccentric colors among the classic styles/colors. She especially loves color melting/balayage & short cuts!

She has a background in art & fashion, contributing styling & makeup for photoshoots & special events. She enjoys collaborating with team events including 4 years with the special Olympics & the Carolina Mudcats.

Outside the salon, she enjoys spending time with her spouse and family. Fun fact:she loves anything to do with water polo. She’s eager to learn and grow here at Meraki!

Caroline McCoy

Level 2 Hair & Beauty Stylist

Caroline completed her schooling in 2016 at Paul Mitchell The School in Delaware. She has been recognized for her attention to detail, commitment to clients, consistent professionalism and energetic spirit. “As a hairstylist, I believe my work is not only about the hair, but also about the client and the art that we create. I like to focus on making every client feel unique, valued, and ultimately satisfied with the end result. My heart and dedication are put into every haircut, color, and client interaction.” Caroline is also an accomplished graphics designer and portrait artist so she has a strong desire and passion in all things creative! She loves to make sure each person leaving her chair is happy and satisfied.  “I look forward to making Meraki my salon home as well as Raleigh and can’t wait to meet you all! Let’s create art together!”

Chloee Britt

Level 1 Hair & Beauty Stylist

Chloee graduated in 2017 from Paul Mitchell The School with top honors in color and cutting, active in “every club” she could participate in. Her passion for hair started at the early age of 8 and has only grown as she’s gotten older! Her friends and family have been her “guinea pigs” as the years went by. Chloee has a passion for Balayage and the customization it provides her guests as well as blonding in general. “Hair to me is more than that…it’s happiness!” She loves working here at Meraki Salon “because it’s a welcoming and happy environment to be in, it feels like a home away from home!”

Jessica Bramble

Level 1 Stylist

Jessica graduated from Paul Mitchell the School in Delaware in 2018. She likes to focus on balayage with blonding and bronding techniques as her fav as well as that perfect cut and style to finish the total look.

She joins us here at Meraki Salon with a passion for continuing education, attending industry classes and shows around the country. Jessica loves to create that perfect look for brides and bridal parties as an additional speciality.

“Making people feel beautiful is my passion, and hair is the perfect canvas to do that on!”

Kerry Lott

Mentee/Salon Assistant

Kerry is currently a senior at the Aveda Institute in Chapel Hill and graduates June 2019! She is a 2019 Professional Beauty Association Beacon winner where she attended specialized classes among other top students from across the country at the International Salon and Spa Expo.

A life-long lover of art and fashion, Kerry graduated from NC State in 2017 with a degree in Fashion and Textile Management. After working as an assistant apparel buyer, she decided to apply her creative talents to the Cosmetology profession. She is excited to join the Meraki team where she can grow and learn alongside the many experienced stylists.

Besides her love of hair, she loves quality time with her loved ones and cat Luna. She enjoys listening to podcasts, drinking coffee and seeing live music.

Alyssa Foligno

Madison Moore

Lead Salon Coordinator

A Virginia native, Madison is a current law student in the Triangle. When she’s not working on her studies, she spends her time volunteering with several non-profit organizations, hanging out with her cats, and here in the salon with us! She loves the contagious passion that the Meraki team brings into work every day and the chance to engage with a diverse community of clientele.

Anna Grace Wyneken

Salon Coordinator

Despite growing up in Florida, this William Peace University grad has decided call Raleigh home for awhile. She loves curating social media content for both her personal insta as well as Meraki’s.

Her favorite part of the salon “is being around such kind and creative people.”

Courtney Roberts

Salon Manager

After graduating from Aveda, Courtney was ready to step into the salon world but not necessarily behind the chair. She enjoys helping others in their role behind the chair, showcasing their art. While she admires the creative aspects of a stylist, helping others achieve their goals is how she reaches her own. With her desire to grow, a management spot was the perfect fit!

When she’s not at the salon, she loves spending time with her fiancé and dogs, going for walks or staying in to read and write.
