Sheena began her journey in Washington D.C at the prestigious Graham Webb International Academy of Hair in 2004. She began working at some of the best salons in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area. Starting as an apprentice, then stylist, to educator, now to salon co-owner and head of education at Meraki Salon. Throughout her career, she has attained top level technical skills to create both on trend and classic looks.
Her communication skills enable her to decipher what a guest needs and desires, tailoring their service with the highest level of performance and satisfaction. Sheena’s warm sincere presence and positive attitude ensures every clients experience is most enjoyable. She has a natural talent to put at ease an unsure client, creating a comfortable atmosphere during their service. She makes sure every guest walks away feeling confident, relaxed and renewed. She has found there is no better gift to give! Outside of the salon, Sheena loves spending time with her husband and son, enjoys scary movies, animals and traveling anywhere tropical.
Michelle graduated from Northern Michigan University in 2005 for Cosmetology and in 2009 at Finlandia University for Business and Communications. Throughout her career, she has played a variety of roles in both local independent businesses and corporations. She has extensive experience in operating an independent business, managing million dollar corporate branches as well as customer relations and personnel management.
She enjoys listening and sincerely connecting with clients and staff. She takes the time necessary to ensure that anyone that enters her business will leave feeling appreciated, understood and respected. She has a passion for people and loves the variety of life! She strives to create and maintain a natural, balanced, sustainable environment for her family and for her business. Outside of the salon, she enjoys road/mountain biking, gardening & international travel with her husband.
After concluding her schooling in 2008, Summer went on to work in a salon and complete her apprenticeship on the lovely 0BX (outer banks) of North Carolina. She has gone on to craft her passion with enhanced education from Aveda and Kevin Murphy to truly re-create all shades of blondes with classic and advanced custom techniques. She also enjoys textured cutting of all lengths and everyday styling. Summer has a unique ability to ensure her clients are truly heard & feel comfortable. She provides an honest upfront dialogue her clients can trust & rely on, to deliver the total package for them!
Graduating from Aveda in 2007, Ashley worked in Chapel Hill for 7 years then made the move to Raleigh. Specializing in natural balayage and color contouring Ashley has the skills needed to formulate the perfect color for a guest whether it be dramatic, subtle or anywhere in between. “ I love taking on the ‘challenge’ of all hair types and taking part in matching my guests inner beauty with their outer beauty.” Understanding the frustration of recreating a desired look, Ashley takes the time to listen to your routine and simplify your style and maintenance. “There are too many things in life to worry about already, hair should NOT be one of those. I am all about kick ass hair with little effort.”
Beccah is a top graduate of Aveda Chapel Hill graduating in 2015. She has entered national competitions, placing among the top 100. “What I love most about this industry is people, learning about their lives and what drives them. I love low maintenance color, grey blending, creative color and outside the box haircuts. What I love about Meraki the most, is how much they care about their current and potential clients by selectively choosing what products to carry that are green and eco-friendly. Free of all the “bad” ingredients! Also all the plants!” In Beccah’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her “tiny” family as well as…”Being outside is something I’ve always been drawn to. No better way to recharge then getting my hands dirty.”
Carie is originally from Eastern NC and has been in the beauty industry for 10 years, first as an esthetician then as a hair stylist, graduating from Mitchells in 2013. She has grown up watching her mom make people feel great, and she’s wanted nothing more than to bring people that same kind of joy, so she followed in her footsteps. “This career is meant for me!” She specializes in men’s cuts, low maintenance color, bobs, and long styles. “I’m excited to work at Meraki Salon with a team of ultra talented women, bring my skills to Raleigh, and learn and grow with the best product lines out there. The space is so bright, inspiring and most importantly inviting.”Carie loves to spend a lot of time near the beach, on her family’s old farmland and with her fur-baby, Dez, a small terrier mix, who she co parents with her high school sweetheart.
Rachel graduated with honors from Aveda Institute Chapel Hill in 2016. Her love for hair stared at an early age and developed into a passion for creative and eccentric colors among the classic styles/colors. She especially loves color melting/balayage & short cuts!
She has a background in art & fashion, contributing styling & makeup for photoshoots & special events. She enjoys collaborating with team events including 4 years with the special Olympics & the Carolina Mudcats.
Outside the salon, she enjoys spending time with her spouse and family. Fun fact:she loves anything to do with water polo. She’s eager to learn and grow here at Meraki!
Caroline completed her schooling in 2016 at Paul Mitchell The School in Delaware. She has been recognized for her attention to detail, commitment to clients, consistent professionalism and energetic spirit. “As a hairstylist, I believe my work is not only about the hair, but also about the client and the art that we create. I like to focus on making every client feel unique, valued, and ultimately satisfied with the end result. My heart and dedication are put into every haircut, color, and client interaction.” Caroline is also an accomplished graphics designer and portrait artist so she has a strong desire and passion in all things creative! She loves to make sure each person leaving her chair is happy and satisfied. “I look forward to making Meraki my salon home as well as Raleigh and can’t wait to meet you all! Let’s create art together!”
Chloee graduated in 2017 from Paul Mitchell The School with top honors in color and cutting, active in “every club” she could participate in. Her passion for hair started at the early age of 8 and has only grown as she’s gotten older! Her friends and family have been her “guinea pigs” as the years went by. Chloee has a passion for Balayage and the customization it provides her guests as well as blonding in general. “Hair to me is more than that…it’s happiness!” She loves working here at Meraki Salon “because it’s a welcoming and happy environment to be in, it feels like a home away from home!”
Calvin graduated top of his class from Aveda Chapel Hill in 2018. He was Student Council President & Creative Director for Aveda’s charity fashion show “Earth Jam” also spearheading the student mentor program. His commitment to local charities and causes as well as his passion for continuing education is what makes him an integral part of Meraki Salon’s team. He joins us with advanced apprenticeship experience, already completing 1+ years.
Calvin has also accomplished studies in Architecture, Literature, Sculpture & Fine Arts before turning his attention to Cosmetology. He most enjoys perfecting his techniques and gathering inspo from his clients!
In his down time, he loves learning and has a vast personal library where he spends his time reading & studying. He also loves spending time with his partner doing puzzles.
After graduating from Paul Mitchell the School San Antonio in 2009, Hannah moved to NYC where her husband attended school. While in NYC, Hannah worked as a manager at two salons in Manhattan and Brooklyn over five years. Her next chapter led her to Los Angeles where she managed a top permanent makeup studio in Beverly Hills. She will always be a Texas girl at heart, but she is absolutely loving Raleigh! She enjoys being outdoors, the arts, and watching movies with her husband and dog.
Originally from Scranton, PA Therealee attended Empire Beauty School in 2007. Following that experience, her journey led her to several management opportunities in retail customer service areas. She moved to Raleigh with her 2 dogs and loves it so much! She loves art in any form and is obsessed with “The Office”. Therealee loves working here because she gets to witness so many amazing transformations, everyday.
